I know it's been a really long time since I posted anything. Dan keeps telling me they're getting rid of blogger, so I don't invest time in it. Plus it takes me like an hour to get all the formatting to cooperate and I just don't have the patience. But it is a good way to share photos with my parents that require captions. So, this is for you Marvin Landis.

The roost is a 2x2, 18" off the floor and the nest box is another 6" high, filled with wood shavings. They can now directly fly from the floor to the nest box, but some are lazy and like to use the stick ramp. That is a rooster on the far right.

The feed comes out of the PVC pipe and the water is delivered in a watering cup system. If they tap on the yellow stick, water fills the cup. Some chickens understand this, some do not. This system saves on floor space.
Here you can see the PVC pipe attached to the outside of the coop. You just pour feed into the top of the pipe. The white plastic cistern on the shelf holds 12 gallons and delivers the water by gravity through plastic tubing to the orange cup inside.
